Lake Champlain is located between the Adirondacks of New York and the Green Mountains of Vermmont, and extends in to Quebec as well. The lake "flows" north and empties into Quebec's Richelieu River, which then flows in to the St. Lawrence and then to the Atlantic. On the south end of the lake, Lake Champlain resembles a river more than a lake. The Lake is 120 miles long, and 12 miles across at it's wides point, covering a total of 435 square miles. Given the vast geographic coverage of the lake, it has been broken down into 5 distinct categories, each of which acts as it's own system, although each is interconnected:
South Lake
Main or Broad Lake
Malletts Bay
The Inland Sea
Mississquoi Bay
This site is devoted to the anglers of Lake Champlain and it's tributaries, raising
the awareness of the environmental condition of the lake, and what we can do to
improve it.
Strategic Plan for Lake Champlain Fisheries by the Fisheries Technical Committee

of Fish and Wildlife, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
